This is Bella. Our why.
At just seven months old, Bella was diagnosed with leukemia.
Overnight, our lives became hospital rooms, long drives, uncertainty, and impossible decisions. We learned how overwhelming childhood cancer can be, especially when lifesaving care is hours from home.
When Bella passed away, we made her a promise.
That promise became Smiles From Heaven, a promise that no family in our community would face childhood cancer alone.
Because of Bella, families who once felt alone now have someone to walk beside them.
Our impact
Because of you, hope travels further and families never face this alone.
Helping South Texas children and families fighting cancer.
Walking beside families throughout their journey.
The heart behind our mission.
Removing barriers to life-saving treatment.
Transportation, lodging, meals, programs, and more.
Creating moments of joy and connection.
Why We Do What We Do
Inspired by Bella’s journey. Dedicated to every child.
See how one family’s experience became a promise that
no child should fight cancer alone.
Inspired by the experiences of the families we serve.
This film is an artistic representation of the challenges many South Texas families face while seeking life-saving treatment.
